Well Summary

The Kuda Tasi Field is located within Production Sharing Contract Area JDPA 06-105 in the northern Bonaparte Basin of the Timor Sea, some 550 km west-northwest of Darwin and 200 km south of Timor-Leste . The Kuda Tasi Field is situated 6 km to the northeast of the Jahal Field and 16 km northeast of the Laminaria Field.
The Kuda Tasi-3 vertical appraisal well was drilled in 438 metres of water by the Maerskoperated semi-submersible drilling unit Nan Hai VI. Kuda Tasi-3 was drilled down-dip and 2.3 km northeast of the Kuda Tasi-2 appraisal well to appraise the lateral extent of the field and reservoir connectivity.
The Nan Hai VI was on location from 21 July 2006, however the well did not spud until the 22 September 2006 due to a fire in the rig store room and subsequent repairs. Kuda Tasi-3 intersected top reservoir at 3440.7 mRT and reached a total depth of 3513 mRT on 16 October 2006 in water-bearing sandstones of the Laminaria Formation. The well was plugged and abandoned as an appraisal well and the rig was released from contract on 30 October 2006.
